Interview with Juliette Dragon

Juliette Dragon is a total badass. In addition to singing in a ‘Sensual Garage Rock Band’ with her husband called Rikkha, she puts on scintillating cabaret productions with her burlesque company, Le Cabaret des Filles de Joie, and founded the first burlesque school in Paris: Ecole des Filles de Joie. Girls at her school learn more than just how to dance– they are learning not just to shake but to own and feel good about what their mamas gave them.  “You have to like and to love yourself to be able to be loved by someone else. In my school the girls are learning how to love themselves and love each other.” Forget the girls in the magazine- “I think every kind of woman is beautiful and the sex appeal isn’t a question of age or skin color… just an attitude.”

Interview with Reid ‘Sex Geek’ Mihalko

Reid ‘Sex Geek’ Mihalko from Hysteric TV on Vimeo.

I first met sex educator and Cuddle Party co-creator Reid Mihalko in 2011 at the Los Angeles Pleasure Chest where he was leading one of his classes. He referred to himself as the “golden retriever” in the sex education world and it’s easy to see why; his sweet charm and goofy personality helps put people at ease when grappling with topics that are still considered scary and taboo by many.

I have long been frustrated by America’s seemingly endless war on sex; sure, pornography has never been more readily available and vibrators are being sold in local drug stores, but sexual shame still grips a large percentage of men and women. The glimpse of a woman’s breast on national tv in this country causes public outrage. Influential (albeit crazy) politicians wage public campaigns against masturbation and contraception.  Sex is considered more obscene than violence. There are still places in this country where the sale of sex toys is considered a crime! I don’t know about you but I think something is seriously wrong here. But teachers like Reid give me hope that the tide can be turned with open dialogue and encouragement from coaches and educators to look within and own our desire.

On a sunny day in Oakland I interviewed Reid at his spacious yet cozy loft in Fruitvale (lovingly dubbed “Fruitopia”) where he shared with me the early inspiration for his career, how he’s helping to further the sex positive movement, and his philosophy about life, love and relationships.

Interview with Josh & Evan from Bordello of Decadence (VIDEO)

Digging through the old archive of unpublished interviews, I came across this one from the 2011 “Everything To Do With Sex” expo. These two furniture makers from the LA BDSM organization Bordello of Decadence opened up about bondage misconceptions, spanking, and showed off some discreet sex furniture.

Their official website seems to be down these days but they can stil be found at KinkArena.com.

Daniel Radcliffe reads erotic Harry Potter fanfiction (VIDEO)

A few months ago I stumbled across some erotic Harry Potter fanfiction. Here’s an excerpt from a piece at The Quidditch Pitch entitled “Fantasies Fulfilled”:

Charlie allowed Harry to push him back on the bed and Harry’s hands slid around Hermione’s waist. She loved the way the leather felt against her skin and when he lifted her over Charlie’s cock and slid her down slowly she cried out his name. He cupped her breast before tugging one of his gloves off with his teeth. His lips trailed a line of fire down her back and he pushed her shoulders forwarded when he reached the curve of her arse. She expected to feel his fingers inside her but when she felt his tongue circling her puckered hole she nearly screamed with pleasure. His tongue dipped inside, stretching her, and she slowly rocked back and forth. Charlie’s hand was between her legs, rubbing her clit, and his lips closed around her nipple… Harry began driving his tongue inside her, abruptly pulling out and whispering a charm

Rawr. Fortunately for us the good folks over at Bravo managed to get Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Radcliffe to do a brief reading of some similar scintillating scenes:

Radcliffe later opens up about creepy stalkers and his attraction to Katy Perry and Scarlett Johansson:

Somebody’s all growns up.

Dutch show interviews World Masturbation Champion (VIDEO)

Since 2009, Tokyo native Masanobu Sato has held the masturbation world record at San Francisco’s annual Masturbate-a-thon for the longest continuous time spent masturbating: 9 hours and 58 minutes. Dutch TV show Metropolis interviewed Sato and his very supportive girlfriend who tracks her boyfriend’s wank time with an iPhone app. Turns out that, like me, Sato prefers watching porn featuring anime girls to real ones! “A real female, of course, smells, is dirty…” Masanobu said. “Of course, because it’s a human being, it has lots of things. So we have this anime, isn’t it clean and pretty?” Take a look.

Interview with ‘Sticky’ Masturbation Documentary director Nicholas Tana (Video)

By Kim Huynh

A few months ago I was appalled to discover that there was still a ban on the sale of sex toys in certain parts of the south (Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi to be exact). I reached out to Sherri Williams, the owner of an adult romance boutique in Alabama called Pleasures, who has fought to legally overturn the ban since it was introduced in the 90s. She graciously granted me a film interview (stay tuned for video) and, after checking out FKMYSELF.COM, also suggested that I connect with filmmaker Nicholas Tana who had interviewed her for his project Sticky: A Documentary About Masturbation.

This guy wrote, produced and directed an entire movie about masturbation? We must be kindred spirits. Synopsis from the “Sticky” site:

“Sticky” is everything your mother was too embarrassed to tell you about masturbation in one stimulating documentary. Full of candid interviews from sex therapists, religious figures, and psychologists to celebrated figures such as former Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders, comedian Janeane Garofalo, and, among others, “Hustler” creator, Larry Flynt. The documentary answers age-old questions; “Will it make me go blind?”; “Is it “normal”?”; and, “Why are we so afraid to be caught in the act?” As well as tackling more contemporary issues like why the media portrays masturbation so negatively, how the world’s major religions disagree about the moral effects of self-pleasuring, and why the sale of sex toys is illegal in Alabama.

When confusion about sexuality remains at the root of so many societal problems – rape, sexual abuse, and the threat of sexually transmitted diseases – “Sticky” will help shatter popular misconceptions about masturbation. This daring documentary exposes the touchy relationship many people have with pleasuring themselves.

I sat down with Nicholas in his Koreatown apartment where he serenaded me with an ode to self love and opened up about his inspiration for the film (now 5 years in the making), some surprising discoveries and what his family had to say about his “jerkoff movie”. Check out our interview featuring some clips from this much anticipated and groundbreaking documentary:

Also be sure to check out the “Sticky” blog for updates (and a steamy story from Hot Rawks founder Julie Wilson about FKing herself at work). You can view the full trailer here.

James Franco talks new porn doc + sex tape (Video)

The charming and multi-talented James Franco, everyone’s favorite half(ish) jew, made an appearance on Conan this week to promote his new film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Around 3:45 the conversation turns to Franco’s porn documentary as well as his first (and probably last) sex tape:

The San Francisco facility Franco is filming for his documentary, as reported by sfist, is Kink.com:

Although, he never namedrops Kink.com specifically, pretty much everyone in San Francisco ought to be able to figure out what he’s talking about here. As for the inspiration for the project, porn industry news source Xbiz.com reports [warning: probably NSFW] he was recently in town shooting Cherry a (likely) R-rated flick set in San Francisco and co-written by adult performer Lorelei Lee, that may or may not contain some scenes at the Armory.

Also confirming the project was a now-deleted tweet from Kink.com performer Rain DeGrey, which according to Indiewire originally read: “Kink.com is all aflutter today because James Franco is here shooting his new movie. All these girls want to f*ck him! lol.”

A friend told me about Kink a couple weeks ago when I was planning my relaunch party and suggested I reach out to them about some sort of collaboration. I looked around the site again tonight and found that they have an astonishing collection of bondage videos available at no cost, one of which features none other than the lovely Bobbi Starr who I had the pleasure of interviewing in April. I signed up for free and was able to download an entire folder of behind the scenes photos from her shoot as well as the entire video itself. To see sexy selections of miss Starr check out this week’s installment of Jackoff Sparrow’s Erotica Picks.
