Guinness World Record Attempt for Largest Naked Santa Gathering

By Kim Huynh

Looks like I picked a good year to pop my Santacon cherry…

Tex Allen is leading a Guinness World Record attempt for the Largest Gathering of Naked Santas on December 10, 2011 at 3 PM during Santacon 2011.

You may ask, “Why NAKED?”
Well, there’s plenty of other Santa records…like:

* Largest gathering of Santas
* Largest gathering of Elves
* Largest Secret Santa gifting group
* blah blah blah

San Francisco has a long tradition of people being naked in public. Heck, it’s almost required when we have a large group of people get together in our fair city…

So, since Santacon will again be a HUGE gathering of Santas and San Francisco damn well better be the BEST at EVERYTHING, then let’s do this!

THIS IS HAPPENING AT WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK IN NORTH BEACH! If you want to go down in history, BE THERE AND GET READY!

Here’s the rules:

* Gender is irrelevant! You don’t even have to be a good “boy” or “girl” Human, though, is a requirement since I thought that pets are already (usually) naked…
* You have to be naked, but CAN and SHOULD be at least wearing a Santa hat. Boots/boot covers and gloves are also OK. Otherwise, it’s Full Monty or nuthin’
* No Elves, No Reindeer, etc. San Francisco LOVE’s all Santacon revellers, but Guinness will be strict about the “Santa” requirement.
* You’ll have to sign some paperwork with your name, address and email and an OK to take your photo, that’s part of the Guinness rules too.

I will definitely be taking some pictures so stay tuned!

Sandra Yagi exhibit opens in SF

By Kim Huynh

I recently attended the opening reception of a new exhibit at the very cool Modern Eden gallery in San Francisco. It featured the artwork of Sandra Yagi, “who combines in her paintings social commentary, critique of modern issues and the clash of religion and science, all done with classical aesthetics.” One Sandra Yagi series in particular was up that I had to share with all you FKers. Enjoy!

You can check out Sandra Yagi’s exhibit at Modern Eden from now until December 4th. The gallery is located at 403 Francisco Street. San Francisco, CA

‘Slow Sex’ author Nicole Daedone coming to LA

By Kim Huynh

I have been following OneTaste founder Nicole Daedone‘s work since stumbling upon the Slow Sex movement a few months ago. Nicole Daedone is a powerhouse of a woman and these are two amazing opportunities to see her work in person. Here is an excerpt from the inspiring manifesto found on OneTaste’s Turned On Woman’s Movement site:

The status quo is there to douse potential fires. You are here to start them.

Turn-on lives at the edge of what you think is possible. It is ignited when you dare to dream,
act, create, and operate outside the bounds of the status quo.

A turned-on woman is an awakening woman, a woman who is coming alive. She is ignited in purpose, relationship, and sexuality; body, mind, and heart.

A turned-on woman does not fear danger, risk, or being different. She knows that life happens out of bounds. What she fears are the true killers: mediocrity, fitting in, and being average.

A turned-on woman burns big. She will not be contained by size zero pants, quiet whispers, or the role of follower.

A turned-on woman redefines what it means to be a good woman. She takes the existing images, consumes them, and resets the bar. She is undaunted in the face of others’ expectations of her. Not because she discounts them. Because she knows she will exceed them.

A turned-on woman isn’t defined by her circumstances. She defines her circumstances by who she chooses to be within them…

A turned-on woman plays for the freedom of those around her. She recognizes that people bang the snooze button over and over, no matter how much they want to wake up. She is willing to absorb the gripes and grumbles of those who are awakening out of dreamy sleep into their greatest potential. She has the truth as her ballast. She knows that truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident. She waits patiently for the third stage.

Sexual revolution anyone? Stay tuned for my long overdue book review of Slow Sex: The Art and Craft of the Female Orgasm.
